Rockfig Safari Lodge - Timbavati Private Reserve - Kruger Private Reserves
RockFig Safari Lodge offers five star accommodation and big five safari experience within the Timbavati private reserve - Kruger Nationa Park, you simply can't ask for more of a lodge as Rockfig possesses everything you need to experience Africa's magical wildlife.
RockFig Safari Lodge features just six chalet-type suites, making it ideal for exclusive-use bookings for families or groups of friends. The sense of place comes through strongly, with the colour palette in each room inspired by the purple and green hues of local birds and plants. Although guests are always conscious of where they are, no stone is left un-turned in the quest for comfort and luxury.
Each suite features both indoor and outdoor showers, a private veranda ideal for romantic candlelit dinners, a minibar and a bath. Specially commissioned watercolor paintings add notes of cool beauty, and – as with every space in the lodge – the aim is always to delight the guests who’ll stay here. There’s a thoughtfulness to the decor, with the emphasis being on the guest experience – but also an unmissable sense that it’s the natural beauty of the Timbavati bushveld that’s the true hero.

The story of RockFig Safari Lodge has been some 20 years in the making. It began with the Jenkins falling in love with the lowveld during the mid 1990s, and, many family holidays later, saw them purchase the farm in Timbavati that would become the grounds for this luxury South African safari lodge.
Many stories have happy endings, but the tale of RockFig Safari Lodge had an equally serendipitous beginning. During many idyllic family safari holidays in the lowveld, Glen and Bruce Jenkins began to dream of one day owning their own luxury South African safari lodge.

Over 40 different mammals regularly congregate to drink from this waterhole. As you relax in the rockpool you can enjoy keeping watch over hydrating giraffe and elephants. The lodge offers two daily game drives with an experienced guide and tracker. In addition, there is a bush walk which provides the opportunity to spot the big 5. Also, other optional activities include rhino chipping, elephant collaring and helicopter flips.
The Timbavati Private Nature Reserve is known as the 'big 5' nature reserve. Bordering the Kruger National Park, it is part of the untouched South African bush. The reserve offers over 360 species of birds and a variety of wildlife, including the big 5. If you are lucky, you may even spot white lions. The Timbavati truly represents the heart of Africa.
