Kapama Game Reserve is within the Greater Kruger National Park wilderness area just 4½ hours drive northeast of Johannesburg.
The northern Drakensberg mountain range provides a majestic backdrop to the largest private game lodge in the Greater Kruger National Park region. Kapama River Lodge is situated within Kapama Game Reserve, and presents the perfect blend between luxurious safari accommodation and a generous bed capacity of 64 bedrooms. Kapama River Lodge the largest of Kapama's 4 camps, offers 64 rooms. The flowing, opulently furnished public spaces and an expansive wooden deck leading to a rim-flow swimming pool will submerge you in an African paradise. Beyond is an expanse of soft river sand, where atmospheric, lamp-lit dinners are enjoyed under the stars. Guests can choose between Standard, Deluxe, Spa or Royal suites and for bigger families, Spa family suites are available.

Their game relocation programme has seen the introduction of elephant, buffalo, rhinoceros, giraffe and vast herds of wildebeest, kudu and other antelope to the area, which makes for prime game viewing. The park is home to over 40 different mammals, including Africa’s iconic Big Five – lions, leopards, rhinoceros, cape buffalo and elephant – and more than 350 species of bird.
Children of all ages are welcome at Kapama River Lodge.
Children under 2 years stay free of charge.
Children aged 2 – 11 years, sharing with two adults will receive a discount on the per person sharing adult rate, subject to the availability of room types, which can accommodate children.
